When the typhoon comes

Picture of Jeff valley

Jeff valley

Night falls, and the storm roars.

The sea surges with furious waves.

Dark clouds smother the sun,

torrents pour across the land.

Trees tremble on the edge of breaking,

doors and windows sealed tight,

yet hearts cannot rest.

Thunder crashes across heaven and earth,

lightning splits the sky.

Streets flood, turning towns into lakes.

People hurry, seeking shelter.

All creation suffers under wind and rain,

yet resilience takes root in the heart.

Nature shows no mercy,

but humans share kindness.

Watching over each other,

our warmth fills the home.

And when calm returns,

together we will behold

the dawn breaking through the clouds.
